The 17th edition of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) raise the bar for endurance races in the region, with a world-class weekend of racing. Over two days, tens of thousands of athletes from 127 different countries, regions and territories took in the stunning sights and sounds of an all-new course which spanned the lush greens and striking skyscrapers of the world-renowned garden city.

They also hosted its inaugural elite Wheelchair Marathon category which brought a scintillating race to the finish. After 16 years of advocacy and
lobbying, Dr. William Tan's dream came true for wheelchair athletes to be allowed to compete in full marathon category of Singapore Standard Chartered marathon.

11 of Olympic wheelchair athletes from various parts of the world were invited for the big race. He hopes any wheelchair athlete will be able to
participate like their able bodied counterparts for all marathons.
